Terms of Service
The rules for playing Bloom. Plain language. Try not to be a jerk and we'll get along fine.
1. Who we are
Bloom is a free-to-play daily browser game operated from Belgium. References to "we", "us", "our", or "Bloom" mean the operators of the Service in this document.
By using bloom.game (the "Service") you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The game
One bloom runs every night at 00:00 UTC. Players spawn into a single shared world. Last blob standing wins that night's championship.
We may cap the number of players per bloom, run modified versions on special days, or cancel a bloom for maintenance. We don't owe you any particular bloom.
3. Your account & identity
- You can play anonymously. Your device gets an anonymous ID stored locally.
- You can claim a handle by signing in with email, Google, or Discord.
- Your handle is your public identifier. It must be 3–15 characters, A–Z / 0–9 / underscore. Handles that are offensive or impersonate someone may be revoked.
- You're responsible for keeping access to the email or OAuth account you signed in with. Lose access, lose your handle.
- Don't share your account. One person, one account. Multiple accounts to circumvent bans or pad stats are not allowed.
4. What you may not do
- Cheat. No bots, no auto-play scripts, no clients that bypass server validation, no exploiting bugs to gain mass.
- Harass other players. No slurs, no threats, no doxing.
- Use offensive handles. Our filter catches the obvious cases; we reserve the right to ban anything else we find inappropriate.
- Attack the service. No DDoS, no scraping at abusive rates, no probing for vulnerabilities without prior written consent. Responsible disclosure is welcome at security@bloom.game.
- Reverse engineer the server protocol for the purpose of building competing services or unauthorised clients. Building stats sites that consume our public APIs is fine and encouraged.
- Resell, sublicense, or rent your account.
Breach of these rules can result in handle revocation, IP ban, account deletion, or all three. We do not owe you a warning.
5. User-generated content
The only thing you contribute is your handle and gameplay. Both become part of the public record (Hall of Bloom, profile pages, share cards). By playing you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display this in the context of the Service, including in social media share cards generated for you.
6. Money
Bloom is currently free. There is no in-game purchase, no ads, no premium tier. If we add paid features in the future, we'll update these Terms and call it out clearly before any charge.
We don't run real-money tournaments. Any "prizes" mentioned in the game are bragging rights only.
7. Service is provided as-is
Bloom is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no guarantees about uptime, the absence of bugs, or that any specific bloom will run on any specific night. We do our best but the world breaks sometimes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to €0 — the amount you paid us. This does not limit liability for matters that cannot legally be excluded (e.g. wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or harm to life).
We are not liable for time you spent playing, opportunities missed, or feelings hurt by losing to a bigger blob.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service anytime. Delete your account via privacy@bloom.game to erase your data (see the Privacy notice).
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or if we shut the Service down. We'll give reasonable notice for shutdowns where we can.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes get a notice on the home page before they take effect. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
11. Law & disputes
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute that can't be resolved by emailing hello@bloom.game first goes to the courts of Antwerp, Belgium.
If you're a consumer in the EU, this clause does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
